Abstract

The use of educational media using Augmented Reality can make it easier for students and teachers to carry out the teaching and learning process about the introduction of chemical laboratory equipment using an Android-based smartphone, so that the problem of limited time, teaching staff, places and tools that are not effective and efficient can be resolved with the introduction application. chemical laboratory equipment so that it can be accessed anywhere and anytime. This research uses Modeling and Texturing methods on 3-dimensional objects. The results showed that the application of the introduction of chemical laboratory equipment using Augmented Reality can provide information to users in the form of object forms of laboratory equipment, the function of each chemical laboratory equipment displayed, and examples of practicals using chemical laboratory equipment about electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions. The conclusion of this study is that as a learning medium created using Augmented Reality in the form of an application for the introduction of chemical laboratory tools that can facilitate students and teachers in obtaining learning. Suggestions in this study are the introduction of laboratory equipment applications can be used especially for high school students (SMA) in order to make it easier to get learning about the introduction of chemical laboratory equipment without having to enter the laboratory room. This Augmented Reality application is built using Unity 3D and the ARCore SDK and can be run on Smartphone version 7.0 (Nougat) and above. The result of user testing is 89.16% so that this application can be implemented as a learning medium for the introduction of chemical laboratory tools. Suggestions from this research to add objects from the tool
