Abstract

Transgenic plants are plants that have been inserted or have foreign genes/DNA from different plant species or other living things. Transgenic plants are one of the Plant Breeding courses in the 6th semester majoring in Agrotechnology at the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. One of the obstacles in studying transgenic plant material is the relatively expensive price of equipment that supports the practice of transgenic plants. Learning media that uses Augmented Reality technology can be new for students so that they can increase effectiveness in the teaching and learning process. By using this technology, something abstract that is not visible can be simulated in the form of 3D animated objects so that it seems real and real-time. Applications are made with Unity using 3D displays with markless techniques and using the ARCore SDK library. Based on testing at a distance of 10 cm to 200 cm, 3D animation can be displayed, and animation can be displayed outside or inside the room and can track locations anywhere provided that it has sufficient light intensity above 0 lux. Based on the results of user testing, the percentage of accuracy is 90% with 20 respondents, so this application can be implemented as a learning medium for transgenic plants.
