Abstract

The role of LPG (Liquefid Petroleum Gas) at this time is very important for human life both at home and in the industry, LPG gas in addition to cheap prices, LPG gas is also easily available in various regions even to remote villages and this LPG gas is easier to use compared to the use of kerosene which is currently a step for us to get in any place. The use of LPG gas, especially in Riau, can cost 138 people a day. 500 LPG gas cylinders from Pertamina data. Since there is an energy conversion program from kerosene to LPG gas, new problems have arisen. Around the beginning of January to July 2010 there were many LPG gas explosion events, and this was reinforced by the widespread media coverage, especially television. LPG gas cylinder explosion events on average occur in gas cylinders measuring three kilograms. But that does not mean a 12-kilogram gas cylinder is then safe and there has never been a gas cylinder explosion due to this 12-kilogram gas cylinder. So the activity this time is to make LPG gas leak detection devices using a mobile-based microcontroller. This tool acts as a detection or early warning for people who experience LPG gas leakage but cannot understand that if the gas leakage can be fatal. Therefore from this tool when the LPG gas leak occurs, this tool will provide an alarm, besides that there is also an LED as a sign that the condition of the room is still in a safe or dangerous status and also automatically the user will get a notification from the SmartPhone that has been connected to the device with enter the ID first.
