Abstract
The SBL Field is one of the petroleum drilling fields in the West Natuna Basin. Administratively, the SBL field is located in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. The drilling wells used were 7 log wells spread east-west. The method used in this research is a deterministic analysis of petrophysics which includes qualitative analysis methods, quantitative analysis, and making subsurface distribution maps. The results of the qualitative analysis show that sandstones are used as reservoir targets which are generally characterized by thin shale-coated sandstones in several wells in the Lower Arang Formation. Quantitative analysis on "Sandstone A" shows the value of the shale content is around 0. 21-0. 60, neutron porosity density 0. 12-0. 24, and the water saturation level is around 0. 4-1. 00 while one zone does not have a potential zone because it has a high water saturation value above 0. 80 Based on the results of petrophysical calculations presented in the distribution map Vshale, Porosity, and Water Saturation. The Vshale map produces the highest distribution of shale content in the VLA 4 revervoar zone. The porosity map has the highest porosity in the VLA 3 reservoir zone. On the water saturation map it can be seen that the highest water content is in almost all in VLA 4.
