Abstract
The internet facilities provided to support work in the workplace are not always used wisely by some employees. Cyberloafing behavior, or misuse of internet facilities in the workplace, can be caused by various factors, one of which is personality. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the Five-Factor theory of personality and cyberloafing behavior among employees of the Islamic University of Riau. Data collection was carried out using the cyberloafing scale and the big five personality inventory scale. The research population was the employees of the Islamic University of Riau with a total sample of 162 people obtained using incidental sampling technique. This study used a non-parametric analysis technique with the Spearman's rank method. The results of statistical analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between the openness dimension and cyberloafing, a negative relationship between the conscientiousness dimension and cyberloafing, and a significant positive relationship between the neuroticism dimension and cyberloafing. The personality dimensions of extraversion and agreeableness were not found to have a significant relationship with cyberloafing behavior.
