Abstract
Selasih hospital is a government hospital in Pelalawan district located in the middle of a residential area. In the management of waste, it has used WWTP. Based on a survey conducted by the author in 2018, there are still some problems in the process of liquid waste treatment, namely: the amount of volume of processed wastewater, and still smells of odor in wastewater. Based on these problems, the authors are interested in conducting research on WWTP Selasih Regional Hospital. This study was conducted to determine the wastewater treatment system of the Selasih Regional Hospital and to determine the quantity and load of contaminated wastewater treated by using a system in the hospital. The research method used is qualitative and descriptive, namely by collecting data through interviews and field observations and then analyzing to get an overview of the wastewater treatment system. The results of the study can be concluded that the process of wastewater treatment is in accordance with the regulations of Kepmenkes 1204/Menkes/SK/ X/2004 concerning the Environmental Health Requirements of Hospitals. Namely the process of processing wastewater in the general hospital Selasih area uses a trickling filter (aeration) system. The results of calculation of pollution load according to Appendix D of the Ministry of Environment Decree of 1995, which is actual pollution load (BPS) must be smaller than the maximum pollution load value (BPM), which results in BOD5 = 0.139 Kg/month, COD = 0.298 Kg/month, NH3 0.026 Kg/month, TSS 0.169 Kg/month while the maximum pollution load (BPM) BOD5 = 2.325 Kg/month, COD = 19.375 Kg/month, NH3 = 0.046 Kg/month, TSS = 38.75 Kg/month.
