Abstract

In this modern era, building development is growing very rapidly, due to the rapid population growth, as well as the increasing need for land for housing, schools, office building, hospital, malls and other so that the available land gradually become narrower. To overcome the lack of land there is a lot of architectural in building structures such as the addition of floors and building functions. Because to the addition of the floor of a building, then needed evaluation of the structure of the existing building in order to determine the ability of the building structure due to the addition of the building level. The purpose of this final writing is to find behavior of the ground floor column before the addition of the floor and after the addition of the floor that happen. And to get the inner force from the ground floor column before addition the load or after addition the load and getting a load increase and moment from the basement. The element structural and loading for the added level are the same as the structure below. The method used in this study is a respons spectrum. The results of the analysis show that the building is able to withstand combination of axial loads and lateral after the addition of 1 floor. After the building is added to 2 floors, the building is cannot longer able to withstand combination of axial loads and lateral. The biggest load combination that works in the basement column after adding 2 (two) floors that is axial force 2318.32 kN and moment 397.35 KNm. The cause of the inability of the building to support addition of the floor is caused by combination of axia loads and lateral resulting in a moment that exceeds the nominal moment.
