Abstract

Environmental health of the hospital is very important, therefore it is necessary to strive for proper and appropriate management of waste so that it is disposed of in compliance with the quality standard requirements of hospital waste water. So the authors are interested in conducting research on wastewater treatment systems, in this case the WWTP system at Sansani Pekanbaru Hospital. The purpose of this study was to study wastewater treatment systems, processing capacity such as WWTPs, and the quality of processed wastewater. The parameters of wastewater studied were Temperature (Temperature), TSS (Total Suspended Solids), pH (Degree of Similarity), NH3 (Ammonia), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), and Coliform MPN. The research method used by the author in this study is descriptive method, namely by collecting data through interviews and field observations with the aim of getting an overview of wastewater treatment systems in Sansani Pekanbaru Hospital which will then be analyzed. From the results of the study, it is known that the processing process at Sansani Pekanbaru Hospital has fulfilled the requirements in accordance with Kepmenkes 1204/Menkes/SK/X/2004 regulations, namely the process of managing wastewater using the Anaerobic-Aerobic Biofilter system. The processing capacity of an WWTP is 66.39 M3 per day, so that it can still process the waste water produced on average 12.93 M3 per day. For the quality of processed wastewater, the parameters of temperature, TSS, pH, COD, BOD, and MPN Coliform have met the requirements of quality standards, while the parameters NH3 (Ammonia) are in accordance with 26 mg/L, which is not yet in line the maximum level of quality standards for Republic of Indonesia Regulation No.5 of 2014 is 10 mg/L.
