Abstract

Some people feel that their life is not meaningful, it can all happen because it is influenced by the age factor. A person will feel his life is meaningful if he has entered an early adult phase. In addition, it is very necessary to have prosocial behavior towards early adults to be able to interpret their own lives or can be said with the meaning of life. This study aims to determine the effect of prosocial behavior on the meaning of life in early adulthood. The subjects of this study consisted of 151 people. The data of this study were collected using the prosocial behavior scale and the meaningfulness of life scale. The type of research used is quantitative research. The sampling technique used is a random sampling technique. The analysis technique used in this research is regression analysis technique. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it is known that there is a significant effect of F = 41.391 and Sig = .000 (P < 0.05) with an effective contribution of 0.217 or 21.7% on the meaningfulness of early adult life influenced by prosocial behavior, while 78.3% influenced by other factors. Thus, it can be concluded that the meaningfulness of early adult life has a very positive effect on the existence of prosocial behavior given by each individual, the higher the prosocial behavior given, the higher the meaning of life will be.
