Abstract

The development of Islamic psychology in Indonesia continues to be carried out, especially through research, but the existing research is generally still qualitative because it is limited by measuring instruments. The purpose of this research is to develop and test the validity and reliability of the tasamuh moral measurement tool in Muslim communities which was compiled based on the theoretical constructs from Aziz (2006) and Jumhuri (2015) as well as through interviews with Islamic Religious experts. Tasamuh’s moral scale consists of 4 aspects, 16 indicators and 35 items. The purpose of this research is to determine the validity and reliability of the tasamuh moral measuring instrument. The results of the content validity test involving three experts, namely two Islamic religious experts and 1 Islamic psychologist, showed the V Aiken value ranging from 0.75 to 1.00. The participants of this research were the Muslim community of Pekanbaru city totaling 539 people, taken using the Accidental Sampling technique. Based on the results of the item discriminating power test, referring to the corrected item total correlation, almost all items are at a value of 0.20. One item failed in the item discrepancy test. The results of the reliability test were calculated using an internal consistency approach with the alpha formula showed the number 0.894. The results of the construct validity test using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) showed that the CFA model 1 (first order unidimensional) test on 4 aspects on the tasamuh moral scale was declared fit. The results of the analysis of model 2 (second order model) also show that all aspects are able to reflect the variables of tasamuh moral validly and significantly with Chi-square = 1412,414, P value = 0.000 and RMSEA = 0.059. Therefore, the tasamuh moral scale in this research is a valid and reliable measuring tool in measuring tasamuh moral in Muslim participants.
