Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of different stocking densities on survival and growth of pond fish (Helostoma temmnckii) fry. The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely, P1 (Treatment with a stocking density of 2 birds/liter), P2 (Treatment with a stocking density of 4 birds/liter), P3 (Treatment with a stocking density of 6 birds/liter). /liter) and P4 (Treatment with a stocking density of 8 birds/liter), P5 (Treatment with a stocking density of 10 birds/liter). The test fish used were pond fish fry aged 1 month with an average weight of 0.09 g and an average length of 1.8 cm. Pond fish seeds were obtained from semi-natural spawning at thSSe Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. The container used is a jar of 15 pieces. From the results of the study, the best percentage of survival was in treatment P1, which was 87%, followed by treatment P2, which was 73%, then treatment P3 was 48%, then treatment P4 was 38% and the lowest was treatment P5 was 30%. The highest growth in weight and length was in treatment P1 which was 0.53 g in weight and 1.90 cm in length, followed by P2 treatment which was 0.47 g in weight and 1.80 cm in length, then P3 treatment was 0.42 g in length and i.e. 1.73 cm and treatment P4 with a weight of 0.40 g and a length of 1.71 cm and the lowest treatment P5 with a weight of 0.36 and a length of 1.66 cm. Water quality parameters such as temperature 25-32 oC, pH 6-8 dissolved oxygen 3.5-4.4 ppm and ammonia 0.28855-0.3363 ppm.
