Abstract
School safety zone is one program to reduce the number of traffic accidents specifically for school childrens, School safety zone (ZoSS) implemented, aiming to improve the safety and comfort of pedestrians and vehicle users who cross the school area. SDN 111 Pekanbaru this was reviewed because it has a heavy traffic volume, so it is prone to accidents and can endanger school students when. The method used in this study refers to the regulation No : SK 3236/AJ403/DRJD/2006 about trials on the application of school safe zone. Data analysis was peformed with normal distribution statistics (Ztest), by comparing values Zcount with values Ztable for pedestrian behavior, introductory behavior and vehicle speed. The survey was conducted by direct observation in Elementary School State 111 Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 6 days from august 6th to 11th 2018, the time of the study was carried out 30 minutes before and after the start of school hours, and 30 minutes before and after school ended hours, until the number of samples was fulfilled. Based on the results of the calculation of behavior students of Elementary School State 111 Pekanbaru, Suka Karya street has an average Zhit value of -6,267, it is said that student behavior when crossing a road is classified as unsaved, because Zcount = -6,267 smaller than Ztable = 1,645. From the calculation of the behavior students of Elementary School State 111 Pekanbaru, Suka Karya street has Zcount average value is 0,85, it is said that the introduction of behavior did not survive, because the Zcount = 0,85 is smaller than Ztable = 1,645. From the calculation of the vehicle's instantaneous speed, it is said that the vehicle's average speed is 35,84 km / hr. This speed does not meet the School Safe Zone speed limit, which is 20 km / hour. And this means that the School Safe Zone must be applied in Pekanbaru State Elementary School.
