Abstract

Has carried out research on Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The research has been conducted for 4 months, from November 2019 to January 2020. This research aims to determine the effect of kinetin and 2,4-D on the growth of citrus explants Kasturi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) in vitro. The design used in conducting this research is Factorial Completely Randomized Design (2 factors). The first factor is the Kinetin concentration namely without kinetin treatment, concentrations of 1, 3, and 5 ppm. Second factor the concentration of 2,4-D, namely without treatment 2,4-D, concentrations of 2, 4, and 6 ppm. There are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, the number of experimental units as many as 48 units. The parameters observed were the percentage of explant life (%), age of shoot appearance (days), age of root emergence (days), number of shoots (fruit) and plant height (cm). Observation data were analyzed statistically and tested BNJ continued at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction between kinerin and 2,4-D had a significant effect to the percentage of live explants, shoots appearing age, root emergence age, number shoots, and plant height is evident from the data that shows a significance on every treatment. The best treatment was found in the 5 ppm Kinetin treatment and 2,4-D 4 ppm (K3D2). The main effect of kinetin has a real effect to the percentage of live explants, age of shoot appearance, number of shoots and height explants. Where is the best treatment on explant life percentage and age shoots appeared, namely 3 ppm kinetin (K2), the best treatment was on the number of shoots and The height of the explants was found in 5 ppm kinetin (K3), while the main effect was 2,4-D had a significant effect on the age at which the roots appeared and the height of the explants with the best treatment 2,4-D 4 ppm (D2).
