Abstract
The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM. 11 No. 113 Marpoyan Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 6 months starting from December 2019 to June 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction between various organic compost and banana peel POC on the growth and production of red ginger (Zingiber Officinale var Rubrum). This study used a completely randomized factorial design (CRD). Which consists of two factors and 3 repetitions. The first factor is various organic compost (P) which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 600 (Vegetable Compost), 600 (Ketapang Compost), 600 (Straw Compost) g / plant and the second factor is banana peel organic fertilizer which consists of 4 levels namely 0, 125, 250 and 375 ml / L of water. Parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of tillers (stems), wet weight (g), rhizome wet weight (g), rhizome dry weight (g) and harvest index (g). Data were analyzed statistically and continued at the 5% level of the BNJ test. The results showed that the effect of the interaction between various organic compost and banana peel POC had an effect on the number of clumpers (stems), weight of wet shrimps (g), weight of wet rhizomes (g) and weight of dry rhizomes (g). The best treatment is found in a combination of Straw Compost 600 g / Plot and POC Banana Skin with a dose of 375 ml / L of water. The main effect of various organic composts was on all parameters of the observation, the best treatment was the Ketapang compost treatment 600 g / plant. The main effect of banana peel POC was on the observed parameters of Wet Rhizome Weight (grams), Wet Rhizome Weight (grams), Dry Rhizome Weight (grams) and Harvest Index. The best dose for the POC treatment of banana peels is 375 ml / L of water.
