Abstract

Determination of growth centers aims to reduce disparities between regions and support regional development. Pelalawan Regency experienced regional disparities between sub-districts in terms of the availability of facilities and the structure of economic growth. This study aims to identify and determine the appropriate sub-districts to be the location of growth centers for the development of the region in Pelalawan District based on the availability of socio-economic advice and conditions of the structure of economic growth. The research approach used is descriptive quantitative by analyzing the subdistricts that can become centers of growth based on the availability of socio-economic facilities using scalogram and index centrality methods and analyzing sub-districts that can become centers of growth based on conditions of economic growth structure using typology methods klassen. The results obtained in analyzing the sub-districts that can become centers of growth based on the availability of socio-economic facilities using the scalogram method and the index of centrality are Pangkalan Kerinci District as Hierarchy I, Ukui District and Pangkalan Kuras Hirarki II District, Bandar Sei Kijang District and Langgam District as Hierarchy III, Kerumutan Subdistrict, Pangkalan Lesung Subdistrict as Hierarchy IV, and Bunut Subdistrict, Pelalawan Subdistrict, Bandar Petalangan Subdistrict, Kuala Kampar Subdistrict, and Teluk Meranti Subdistrict Hierarchy V. Then the results of analyzing subdistricts can become growth centers Based on the condition of the structure of economic growth using the Klassen typology method, Pangkalan Kerinci Subdistrict, Bandar Sei Kijang District, Kerumutan Sub-District, and Teluk Meranti Sub-District, including in the sub-district are developing rapidly. Furthermore, Langgam District, Ukui District, Pangkalan Kuras District, Bunut District, Kuala Kampar District, Bandar Pertalangan District, Pelalawan District and Pangakalan Lesung District are relatively underdeveloped.
