Abstract

The research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11 Perhentian Marpoyan, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was carried out for 5 months starting from November 2020 to March 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction and main effect of young coconut water concentration and the dose of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and yield of leek plants. The study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors, namely the concentration of young coconut water with 4 levels, namely: 0%, 30%, 60% and 90% and the dose factor of NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 with 4 levels, namely: 0, 0.625, 1.25 and 1.875 grams per polybag to obtain 16 treatment combinations. Each treatment combination consisted of 3 replications, so there were 48 experimental units. Each unit consisted of 4 plants and 2 plants as samples so that the total number of plants was 192 plants. Parameters observed were: plant height, number of leaves per plant, number of tillers per clump, number of leaves per tiller, economic fresh weight of plants and age of harvest. The results of the observations were analyzed for variance and then further tested for honest real difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded as follows: the interaction of giving young coconut water concentration and dose of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer had a significant effect on all observation parameters with the best treatment being the concentration of young coconut water 90% and the dose of NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 1,875 g/ polybag. The main effect of giving the concentration of young coconut water was real on all observation parameters, the best treatment was the concentration of young coconut water with a concentration of 90%. The main effect of the dose of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 was significant on all observation parameters, the best treatment was at the dose of NPK 16:16:16 with a dose of 1.875 g/polybag.
