Abstract

Like other major cities in Indonesia, Lingga Regency is also not immune from population growth. Previously, Lingga Regency was a tin producer with a mining reputation for almost 2 (two) centuries (1812 -1992), precisely on the island of Singkep. After the tin PT or UPTS closed, leaving the remnants of tin excavation such as a hole that spreads on the island of Singkep and not closed again causing the former pit to float water so that it formed under the pit. Over time the settlement that was once a mining worker settlement area became an urban area. The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of slums in the Da bo Lama area of Lingga Regency. This research was conducted using descriptive, quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. The characteristics of the inhabitants of the Old Dabo area are only indigenous people, namely the Malay tribe and tin workers aft er developing the Dabo Lama has a variety so that not only indigenous populations such as the Batak, Minang, Chinese and other tribes. Judging from the occupancy of around 46.51% semi - permanent, 32.55% of non -permanent is dominated by buildings that are st ill less livable and the ownership status of land with ownership rights is around 77.90%. And infrastructure facilities are almost the same condition, most of which still do not meet the needs of good quality facilities and infrastructure. The problems that affect can be seen from the socio -economic conditions of the people living in slums within the poverty line, the physical condition of residential buildings in a settlement is a reflection of the conditions of settlements and the surrounding environment, and facilities and infrastructure in the Old Dabo area still do not meet the needs good quality facilities and infrastructure.
