Abstract

Chasis is one of the important parts of a car that must have strong construction to withstand or bear the burden of the vehicle. All loads in the vehicle, both passengers, engine, steering system, and all comfort equipment are all placed on the frame. In designing the design of the chassis itself many aspects must be considered, such as the choice of chassis type, material selection and workmanship and repair. The study was carried out by considering the strength of the chassis, chassis load, and strength of the weld relationship. Because the chassis is the most important part of the vehicle compared to other vehicle components. From the results of the study where the chassis strength of the resulting shear stress is 0.087 N / mm2 smaller than the permissible shear stress of 184 N / mm2, the bent stress of the resulting value is 201.32 N / mm2 smaller than the permit voltage of 230 N / mm2 , the load received by point A (wheel A) is 455.40 kg, for each point A (wheel A) has a value of 227.7 kg and the load received by point B (wheel B) is 1190.53 kg, for each point B (wheel B) has a value of 595.26 kg, the strength of the welded joint is 1.6 cm2, the load that can be received by the welding cap is 2240 kg or 21952 N.
