Abstract

Pekanbaru is a city with the largest level of electricity consumption in Riau Province, to overcome the increasing electricity demand, PT. PLN (Persero) Pekanbaru sector cooperates with BUMD PLTG PT. Riau Power, but to meet the electricity needs there are still problems that occur, especially in the Riau Power PLTG, one of which is the addition of loads. The varying or increasing load will affect the performance of each component, namely the compressor, combustion chamber and turbine, with the presence of varying generator load problems it is necessary to analyze the performance parameters of the gas turbine system obtained. Variation in generator load has an influence on the performance of the gas turbine system. Where the greater the load, the performance of the gas turbine system increases. This can be seen from the performance parameters of the gas turbine system whose values vary depending on the increase in load on the generator. From the results of the study, there are differences in each load variation which is where each load experiences an increase in performance. The load variation on the performance obtained the highest load value, which is at 17.2 MW, obtained heat performance 248940000 Kj / kg, Torque 32205.47Nm, fuel mass flow rate 5530 kg / hour, Thermal Efficiency 47.84%, usage SFC specific fuel 0.3215 Kg / Kw.h and useful work 119096748 Kj / hour, in Riau Power PLTG.
