Abstract

The research entitled "The Effect of Application of Various Doses of PGPR and Guano Fertilizer on the Growth and Production of Tomato Plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.)" has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau for 4 months from November 2020 to February 2021. The purpose of the study was to determine the main and interaction effect of PGPR and guano fertilizer on the growth and production of tomato plants. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of two factors. The first factor of PGPR application consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 5, 10 and 15 g/l water. The second factor of Guano fertilizer application consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 30, 60 and 90 g/polybag. Parameters observed were plant height, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, number of fruit residues, time and symptoms of pests and diseases emergence and root volume. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the honest real difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of the observations showed that the interaction of PGPR and guano fertilizer application was significant on the parameters of the amount of leftover fruit with the best treatment being a combination of PGPR treatment 10 g/l water and guano fertilizer 60 g/polybag. The main effect of PGPR was significant on plant height, harvest age, number of productive branches, fruit weight per plant, number of fruit residues with the best treatment of 10 g/l of water and the best treatment of 15 g/l of water on parameters of flowering age and root volume. The main effect of guano fertilizer was on flowering age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, root volume with the best treatment of 90 g/polybag and the best treatment of 60 g/polybag on the parameters of the number of productive branches.
