Abstract

Pekanbaru City is designated as a National Activity Center (PKN) and has a very strategic location as a transit city and is a node of economic activity in the corridor of the Island Of Sumatera.However, in reality the city of Pekanbaru has not been able to solve the problems that exist in its own area. The existence of regional gaps between sub – districts in Pekanbaru city which focused more towards the city center without paying attention to the surrounding sub – districts makes it difficult for sub – districts that are far from the city center to develop. For this reason, it is necessasary to establish a growth center with the aim of making the community prosperous and reducing regional disparities between sub – districts. The purpose of this study is to analyze the determination of growth centers in Pekanbaru City. This research usesscalogram analysis, marsall centrality index analysis and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) analysis to determine growth centers in Pekanbaru City based on the availability of service facilities and priority decisions of stakeholder. Analyze interactions (level of interrelation) between growth centers and the surrounding sub – districts using gravity analysis and break point analysis. The results of the analysis show that the center of growth or hierarchy I (one) of 12 (twelve) sub – ditricts is Marpoyan Damai district. The sub – districts with the highest magnitude of interaction are in the Marpoyan Damai district with the Sukajadi sub – district. Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict and Sukajadi Subdistrict hadan interaction magnitude of 1559525250. While the sub – district with the least interaction with the growth center is Rumbai district with an interaction magnitude of 30795445.33. the result of the break pint analysis to determine the limit of the influence of the growth center with the surrounding sub – districts, namely Marpoyan Damai – Sukajadi districts with a result of 1.25 km and Marpoyan Damai – Rumbai districts with a result of 9.90 km.
