Abstract
The cementing quality is very dependent on the strength of the cement, the harder the cement strength is, the better the cementing quality. The strength of the cement can be increased by adding additives which can increase the strength of the cement but this method can increase cementing costs. One alternative that we can use to increase the strength of this cement is to use organic additives, one of which is to utilize pineapple leaf fibers. The high production of pineapple in Indonesia, especially in Riau Province, has the potential to produce many pineapple leaves that are no longer in use. According to (Norman, 1937) there are 62% -79% cellulose in leaf fibers while according to (Hidayat, 2008) states that pineapple leaf fiber contains 69.5% -71.5% cellulose. The use of pineapple leaves can also reduce the impact of environmental pollution due to lack of waste management on pineapple leaves. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the composition of pineapple leaf fiber additives used in the analysis of filtration loss and free water suspension of drilling semen. Furthermore, to determine the effect of the addition of CMC pineapple leaf fiber additives, the tests were carried out with CMC concentrations of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. For filtration loss, use a filter press type LPLT (Low Pressure Low Temperature). And for free water is determined by using a measuring cup filled with a suspension of 250 ml of cement. Leave for 2 hours until free water occurs on the top of the measuring cup. From the filtration loss testing with CMC Rice Husk additive, the results are said to be feasible at 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% that can reduce filtration loss. However, according to the statement above only the addition of CMC additives at concentrations of 1%, 1.5% and 2% are permitted in the filtration loss because it is below 250 cc. Free water testing with the addition of rice husk CMC with the concentration used in this study is, 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%. Judging from the results that have been there that every addition of CMC additives can reduce free water, according to the statement above the test is still in the rank of free water
