Abstract

As a well is produced, the well's performance to lift fluid to the surface will decrease. This is because the decrease in reservoir pressure or the desired production rate is too large compared to the existing reservoir pressure, so the well cannot flow naturally so it requires the lifting of artificial oil production (artificial lift). One method (artificial lift) that can be used is a gas lift. Gas lift works by injecting gas into the well both continuously and periodically to flow fluid from the well to the surface. The parameters that influence the selection of the gas lift include: Productivity Index (PI), Gas Liquid Ratio (GLR), depth of the well and reservoir driving mechanism. This study will analyze the effectiveness of the use of prosper and pipes on the performance of the gas lift for specific parameters. The parameters to be analyzed are water cut with a value of 70%, 80%, 90%, 98% and GOR with values of 2000, 3000, 5000, and 10000. Then optimize the production of wells using the prosper and pipesim software, and compare capacity or the ability of the software in analyzing the parameters of the gas lift system. Determine methods for anticipating the limitations of certain software in analyzing gas lift systems. The final results obtained show an effective scenario using pipesim software with 5 valves with optimization results Qgi value of 0.8 mmscf/d which is 546 STB/day.
