Abstract

The research entitled “Cow Manure Bokashi Test and Leaf Defoliation on Growth and Production of Sparrow Eggplant (Solanum melongena L,) has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution KM 11 No. 113 Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. This research was carried out for 5 months starting from September 2020 to January 2021. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 replications consisting of two factors, the first factor was cow dung bokashi (Factor S) which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 5, 15 and 25 tons/ha and the second factor was leaf defoliation (Factor D) which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 10%, 20% and 30%. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit planted, weight of planted fruit and residual fruit. The data were statistically analyzed and continued with the BNJ further test at the 5% level. The results showed that; The interaction of bokashi and defoliation had a significant effect on the parameters of the number of fruits and fruit weight in the plantations with the best treatment being bokashi 25 tons/ha and 30% defoliation. The main effect of bocation is real on all observation parameters with the best treatment of 25 tons/ha. The main effect of leaf defoliation significantly affected all parameters except plant height, flowering age and harvest age with the best treatment being 30% defoliation.
