Abstract

This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University starting from July to October 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the main interaction and influence of water hyacinth compost and herbafarm on the growth and production of celery (Apium graveolens L.). This study used a 4 x 4 Factorial Completely Randomized Design with 3 replications and consisted of 2 factors. The first factor is the dose of water hyacinth compost which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 75, 150, 225 g/plant and the second factor is the concentration of Herbafarm which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 10, 20, 30 cc/L of water. The parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, wet weight, number of midribs, root volume, and root crown ratio. Observational parameter data were analyzed statistically and continued with the honest real difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of water hyacinth compost and Herbafarm significantly affected the number of tillers, wet weight, number of midribs, root volume, and root crown ratio. The best treatment was a combination of water hyacinth compost 225 g/polybag and Herbafarm 30 cc/L water. The main effect of the dose of water hyacinth compost had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatment dose is 225 g/polybag. The main effect of Herbalfarm was significant on all parameters. The best treatment was Herbafarm concentration of 30 cc/L of water.
