Abstract

This research entitled "Effect of Eggshell Waste and Rhizobium on Growth and Production of Soybean (Glycine max L.)". Under the guidance of Mr. Prof. Dr. Hasan Basri Jumin, M.Sc. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, for four months starting from March 2020 to June 2020. The purpose of the study was to determine the Effect of Eggshell and Rhizobium Waste on Growth and Production of Soybean (Glycine max L.) The experimental design used in this study was a Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the provision of eggshell waste (C) with 4 levels of treatment: 0, 12.5, 25, 37.5 g/plant and the second factor is the provision of Rhizobium (R) with 4 levels: 0, 3,5, 7, 10.5 g/kg seed. Parameters observed were plant height, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, flowering age, harvest age, weight of 100 seeds, percentage of effective root nodules and dry weight of seeds per plant. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with further BNJ test at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of eggshell waste and Rhizobium affected the parameters of plant height, net assimilation rate 14-21 & 21-28, relative growth rate 14-21 & 21-28, flowering age, weight of 100 seeds and dry weight of seeds per seed. plant. The best treatment was found at a dose of eggshell waste 37.5 g/plant and Rhizobium 10.5 g/kg seed (C3R3). The main factor of eggshell waste affects all observation parameters. The best treatment was found at a dose of eggshell waste 37.5 g/plant (C3). The main factors of Rhizobium affected the parameters of plant height, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, flowering age, weight of 100 seeds, percentage of effective root nodules and dry weight of seeds per plant. The best treatment was found at a dose of Rhizobium 10.5 g/kg seed (R3).
