Abstract
Study area on Kotopanjang, Pangkalan Koto Baru District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province. This area lies on 0 ° 05 '31.19 "- 0 ° 13' 44.85" LS and 100 ° 44 '17.40 "- 100 ° 47' 49.24" BT which is included in the pekanbaru map sheet 13-0617_0717 Kampar Regency . The research area has quite complex geological structure conditions. This can be seen from the satellite image and geological mapping. There are eight structures of geological structures that are ratified from north to south with eocene age to oligocene, namely the structure of three normal faults and five dextral shear faults due to transform / wrench tectonics that form hords and grabens. And fourteen geological structures that are relatively southeast-northwest trending in the early Miocene to the middle Miocene are one upward and thirteen synistral shear faults due to transtensional fracture zones. As well as fifteen structures trending southwest - northeast middle to old myocene resen form one normal and one fold fault and thirteen shear faults due to the compressional phase sequence.
