Abstract

The object of this study is the Islamic Center Agung Mosque in Rokan Hulu Regency because this mosque was designed like the Nabawi Mosque in Medina which has a magnificent architecture and it is also as a plenary mosque in Rokan Hulu Regency. The problem formulation of this study: how is the development strategy for religious tourism of the Islamic Centre Agung Mosque in Rokan Hulu Regency?. This study aims to investigate the development strategy for religious tourism of the Islamic Centre Agung Mosque in Rokan Hulu Regency. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data. The population in this study is the administrators of Islamic Center Agung Mosque and the Department of Tourism and Culture of Rokan Hulu Regency. The sampling techniques used are interview, documentation and observation. To find out the development strategy for religious tourism, so there are five dimensions investigated, namely Tourism Attractiveness, Accessibility, Amity, Additional Services and Institutions with an additional approach to the dimension of Islamic Religiosity. The results of the study show that the development strategy that has been carried out is by providing various facilities and services as well as the uniqueness and grandeur of the Islamic Center Agung Mosque.
