Abstract

Kuok sub-district is a center for developing kelulut honey with a very promising household income and can meet household expenses. This study aims to analyze: 1) characteristics of breeders and business profiles of kelulut honey bees, 2) production factors, costs, income, and business efficiency of kelulut honey bees, 3) household income and expenses of kelulut honey bee breeders. This research was conducted in Kuok District, Kampar Regency from April 2020 to November 2020. The method used in this study was a survey method. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed: 1) the entrepreneur of honey kelulut was productive with an average age of 44.1 years, an average education of 8.7 years (junior high school level), an average experience of 2.2 years, and an average number of dependents. 4 souls, using traditional technology. The profile of the honey kelulut business is that it was established in 2018, the business capital is own capital with the amount of Rp. 5,000,000, the business scale is micro business, and the use of labor is 1.6 HOK. 2) Production factors, costs, income and efficiency of kelulut honey business, namely the average use of beekeeper business boxes is 14 boxes/production period, the average packaging bottle is 17 units/production period, the average smoker is 2 units/period production, the average labor force is 1.6 HOK and the average equipment depreciation cost is 1.319.111/production period. The production cost is Rp.1.590.000/production period, the average honey production is 9.2/kg, the average price of honey is Rp.600,000/kg, the average gross income is Rp.5.556.000/production period , the average net income is Rp. 3,965,000/production period, the RCR value is 3.4, which means that the kelulut honey business is feasible. 3) Household income consists of honey business Rp. 3,965,000/production period and income outside the side income business of Rp. 2,043,000/month plus wife's income Rp. 516,666/month and children's income Rp. 505,556/month, total household income of Rp. 7,030,230/income. Household expenditures consist of food expenditure, namely from rice Rp. 357,796/month, side dishes Rp.429,981/month, vegetables Rp.384,889/month, and food ingredients Rp.41,223/month. And non-food expenses consist of housing Rp.1,033,333/month, clothing Rp.108,370/month, education Rp.2,733,333/month, health Rp.392,593/month, and recreation Rp.253,704/month, the total expenditure of farmer household amounting to Rp. 5,807,222/month. It can be concluded that the amount of household income is greater than household expenditure, and seeing that the share of household food expenditure is lower, the kelulut honey bee breeders in Kuok District are prosperous.
