Abstract

Village is one of the oil palm producing villages in Rambah Hilir District as the 7th largest oil palm producer in Rambah Hilir District. This study aims to determine the characteristics of farmers and the profile of independent oil palm farming, to determine the technology of self-help oil palm cultivation. And to see the use of palm oil production factors, production costs, production, income and efficiency in Sungai Sitolang Village. This study uses a survey method conducted from July 2020 to December 2020. The results showed (1) The average age of the farmer was 45 years, the education level of the farmer was 9 years, the length of farming experience was 11 years, the number of dependents of the farmer's family was 2 people and the farmer's land area was 2 hectares. (2) The technology used by the early farmers to cultivate the land is tractors. Oil palm farmers in Sungai Sitolang Village still use manual technology, such as tripe and spraying tanks. The results showed that farmers are still minimal in the use of modern technology. (3) The use of oil palm farming production factors such as, the average use of TSP fertilizer is 203,49 (Kg/Ha/Th), KCl is 278,85 (Kg/Ha/Th) and UREA is 453,01 (Kg/Ha/Th) and the average -the average cost of fertilizer is Rp. 8.042.086/year, the average cost of pesticides is Rp. 401,744 Rp/Ha/Year, the average use of TKDK is 3,10 HOK/Ha and TKLK 11,47 HOK/Ha and the production obtained is as much as 6.133 Kg/Ha/Year. Fixed costs of Rp. 305,159 and variable costs of Rp. 9.900.462,96. Gross income as much as Rp. 10,426,100/Ha/Year. Net income Rp.220.478,09/Ha/Year and the value of oil palm farming efficiency is 1.02.
