Abstract

The surface of HR. Subrantas street in Pekanbaru Ci ty is the result of overlaying several times so the existing foundation layers ha ve holes and waves. In this condition, it is no longger possible to increase the thickness of the pavement layer by overlaying it because the existing elevation of the road surface is almost the same as the sidewalk. Furthermore, it must to scratching/cutting the old pavement layer as thick as the layer that want to be overlaid, which the result are also known as Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP). The purpose of this research is to study the composition of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), base A gradation, optimum cement da n water content and to assess the compressive strength toword the mixed composition o f Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) with base A by using CTRB (Cement Treated Rec ycling Base) method. The research method is descriptive by reviewing sec ondary data in the form of Job Mix Design (JMD), Job Mix Formula (JMF) and pri mary data in the form of field reviews and interviews obtained from Dinas Pekerjaa n Umum and Penataan Ruang Riau Province and The Implementinf Contractor from PT. B angun Purba Satahi on Road Improvement Activities in Pekanbaru City in 2019. F urthermore, it is discussed according to the standards or condition that have b een specified and compared with previous research. For the composition of the mixed gradation variatio n of RAP 30% + Base A 70% can be selected in Job Mix Design (JMD) design afte r modification of the aggregate toward klas A aggregate grains. Furthermore, for th e mixed variation RAP 40% + aggregate klas A 60% need more research so the resu lt of the manufacture of JMD and JMF more accurate and optimal in making efficiency towards new materials. Analysis of the density study for type of compaction Proctor Mo dified with maximum density (γd) 2,161 gr/cm 3 and optimum water content 5% that found in mixture of RAP 30% + Base A 70% from mixed simulation variation obtained that t he bigger percentage of RAP, the smaller maximum density value obtained, so that the optimum water content value increases along with reduced use of RAP and increas es cement content. The result of study towards the compressive strength of CTRB with cement matetials variation were 45,5 kg/cm 2 , 58,5 kg/cm 2 and 45,5 kg/cm 2 with an average compressive strength 49,78 kg/cm 2 with 7 days old concrete obtained increasing in co mpressive strength of CTRB along with increasing use of cement.
