Abstract

This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, for 4 months from May to August 2018. The aim of the study was to determine the interaction effects and the main application of oil palm empty fruit bunches and KCl compost on the growth and production of shallots. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design. The first factor is Oil Palm Empty Bunch (T) compost which consists of four levels, namely: 0, 1, 1.5, 2 kg / plot and the second factor is KCL (K) which consists of four levels, namely: 0, 10, 20 , 30 g / plot to obtain 16 combinations of treatments. Each combination of treatments consists of 3 replications, so there are 48 experimental units (plots). Each plot consists of 25 plants and 5 plants which are taken as random sampling. All experimental units consist of 1200 plants. The parameters observed were as follows: plant height, harvest age, number of perrumpun tubers, wet weight perumpumpun tuber, dry weight perrumpun tuber, shrinkage of tuber weight. The results of observations from each treatment were analyzed statistically and continued with a further test of Honest Real Difference at the level of 5%. The results showed that interaction of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost and KCl fertilizer interactively had a significant effect on all parameters, with the best treatment of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost 1.5 kg / plot and 20 g KCl / plot. The main effect of giving oil palm empty fruit bunch compost was real to all parameters with the best treatment of 1.5 kg / plot. The main effect of giving real KCl to all observational parameters with the best treatment was 20 g / plot.
