Abstract

This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru, for 3 months from October to December 2018. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of interaction and main administration of tea pulp and KCl fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots. This study used Factorial Completely Randomized Design. The first factor is the provision of tea pulp (A) which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 kg / plot. While the second factor is KCl (K) Fertilizer which consists of 4 levels namely 0, 10, 20, 30 g / plot so that 16 combinations of treatments are obtained. Each combination of treatments consisted of 3 replications, resulting in 48 units of plot (plot). Each plot consists of 25 plants and 5 of them are used as observation samples so that a total of 1200 plants. Parameters observed were shoot age, plant height, age of tuber formation, number of leaves, harvest age, tuber number per clump, wet tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight per tuber, tuber wrap, weight loss tuber. The last observation data were analyzed statistically and continued with a BNJ follow-up test at the level of 5%. The results showed that the interaction of the administration of tea pulp and KCl fertilizer had a significant effect on shoot age, plant height, age of tuber formation, number of leaves, harvest age, number of tubers per clump, wet tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight per clump, weight of dried tubers per tuber, tuber wrap, shrink tuber weight. The best treatment is found in the combination of 1.5 kg tea pulp / plot treatment and 20 g KCl fertilizer / plot (A3K2). The main effect of giving real tea pulp to all observed parameters with the best treatment was 1.5 kg / plot (A3). The main effect of giving real KCl fertilizer to all observational parameters with the best treatment was 20 g / plot (A2).
