Abstract

Curly red chili is an adequate horticultural commodity important because it is consumed by most residents as a spice Cook. But seen from the current development of curly red chili prices,there is a fluctuation in the price of curly red chili from time to time in line with increasing average consumption of chili in Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study aims to find out (1) Development of prices for curly red chili, prices of chili big red, green cayenne prices, red onion prices, garlic prices and the price of tomatoes in Pekanbaru City with qualitative and descriptive analysis trend analysis (2) Analyze cointegration of curly red chili prices in the City Pekanbaru, (3) Analyzing the elasticity of prices of curly red chili, the price of chili big red, green cayenne prices, red onion prices, garlic prices and the price of tomatoes. The data used in this study is time series data for 28 months, from July 2016 to October 2018. Data at analysis with multiple linear regression with OLS (Ordinary) estimation method Least Square). The results showed that the development of chili prices curly red, the price of large red chili, the price of green cayenne, the price of onions the red and price of garlic in Pekanbaru City for 28 months from July 2016 to October 2018 fluctuated with a downward trend. Meanwhile, the price of tomatoes tends to increase. Factor which has a significant (real) effect on the price of curly red chili in the City Pekanbaru is a large red chili with a smaller p value of T (0,000) of α = 0.05%. Then the price elasticity results show all variables inelastic or unresponsive to changes in the price of red chili curly in the city of Pekanbaru.
