Abstract

Abstract Concrete is a construction material that is currently very commonly used. One of the innovations made is that porous concrete or non-sand concrete is a simple form of lightweight concrete that is made by eliminating the use of fine aggregate. In this porous concrete research carried out by using rubber wood charcoal ash added material, generally waste wood charcoal waste from burning remains, rarely used by the community so that the rubber wood charcoal decomposes naturally and returns to nature without providing benefits. This research is intended to determine the effect and other benefits of rubber wood charcoal so that it can be useful for buildings and also the community. In making porous concrete mixes, referring to non-sand concrete books with the percentage of rubber wood charcoal ash added by 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% to the weight of cement. This study used 30 samples with 28 days porous concrete testing age and cylinder dimensions of 15 cm x 30 cm. Based on the results of the research, the compressive strength value of the addition of rubber wood charcoal ash to cement weight of 0% was 4.14 MPa, the percentage of 5% was 4.23 MPa, the percentage of 10% was 5.10 MPa, the percentage of 15% was 4.52 MPa. , and the percentage of 20% is 4.43 MPa. The compressive strength of porous concrete can meet the requirements according to (NRMCA, 2011) and (ACI 522R - 10). Porosity in the percentage of the addition of rubber wood charcoal ash to the weight of cement 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% has met the requirements according to (ACI 522R - 10). And for the permeability of porous concrete with the addition percentage of rubber wood charcoal ash to cement weight of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% has met the requirements based on (NRMCA, 2011) and (ACI 522R -10), while the percentage of addition of rubber wood charcoal ash 20% by weight of cement passes the permeability requirement. So that the use of rubber wood charcoal ash is effective up to a percentage of 10% because it has increased and then has decreased to a percentage of 20%. However, porosity and permeability have decreased.
