Abstract

Damage that occurs in reinforced concrete beams can be caused due structural age, initial design errors, workmanship, non-loading according to plan or other natural factors. Usually damaged structures will be dismantled and replaced immediately without considering the possibility to be repaired or given reinforcement. Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is a material that can be used in reinforcing reinforced concrete structures, one of them the type is Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP). This material is very good used as reinforcement because of its light weight, corrosion resistance and possession high strength. Research with laboratory testing aims to find out the effect of installing GFRP sheets to reinforce the tensile beam, the beam used measuring 250 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm and given a load to experience cracks, sheets of GFRP used are taken from two different manufacturers which is widely applied in the field today. So that you can get each - each increase in strength which will later be compared to give consideration for practitioners in the field. From the results of the study it was found that there was an increase in the bolok which has been coated with GFRP, for product A there is an increase strength of 10.72% of the normal beam and for product B there was an increase strength of 24.15% of normal beam.
