Abstract
The aim of the researt is to determine the change in temperature of modified AC-WC asbuton JBMA-50 and normal asphalt from loading until overlay work on the fied. Moreover, the effect temperature variation on the Marshall parameter is also observed in order to study the flexible pavement characteristics. It is observed that there is a significant drop of temperature of AC-WC modified asbuton JBMA-50 compared to normal asphalt during paving work. Furthermore, according to the Marshall test on specimensof modified AC-WC asbuton JBMA-50 with 130 oC and 140 oC, Marshall parameters includinf voids in mix (VIM), voids filled with asphalt (VFA), stability and Marshall Quotient (MQ) are fulfilled base on Bina Marga standard 2010 (3rd revision). While, only Marshall Quotient (MQ) is achieved for sample with 90 oC, 110 oC and 120 oC. It can be concluded that, for both AC-WC modified asbuton JBMA-50 and normal asphalt, the ideal compaction temperature is on 130 oC. The result of Marshall test shows that modified asbuton JBMA-50 has butter stability compare to normal asphalt. On the other hand, interm of flow, normal asphalt is more superior.
