Abstract

In generalt the road layer in Indonesia uses ahot asphalt mixture, better known as flexible pavement, in certain road that use conventional asphalt have a pretty good perpormance. Hovewer the original properties of asphalt are considered to be unable to survive unless steps are taken to repair and improve their performance accordingly.one solution to the problem of road contrution is by adding JBMA-50 Asbuton. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of marshall parameters in the asphalt (AC-BC) using modified asphalt JBMA-50 asphalt produced by PT.Hasrad Tata Jaya Pekanbaru Riau by using material from Kampar to be able to know the behavior of asbuton to marshall parameter. The method used is laboratory scale analysis to determine DMF, with the gradation used based on the ideal curve of the upper and lower limits, for combining each agregate mixture is determined by three aggregate fractions namely coarse, fine and filler (2010,Higways Develovment) aggregate so that some asphalt levels are obtained for parameter testing marshall. From the research that has been done in the laboratory for modified ACBC asphalt types with Kampar material and JBMA-50 asbuton the results obtained at optimum asphalt levels are as follows:marshall stability of 1407,2 kg,voids in mixture (VIM) of 3,95%, the voids mix asphalt of 15, 38%, voids filled asphalt (VFA) of 74,34%, flow of 2,56 mm, marshall yield was 538,80 kg/mm and mixed density bulk density (BD) of 2,334 gr/cc all the result of the marhall parameters meet the requiments indicated in the general specifications (revision3) of 2010. JBMA-50 asbuton is superior to the marshall quetient(MQ) compared to other oil asphalt. Asphalt oil pen 40/50 has a high value of stability, VMA,flow,VFA and bulk density compared to other asphalt. With optimum asphalt levels which are relatively larger and lower penetration will result in high marshall stability this applies to the same type of asphalt mixture, it is recomended to use JBMA-50 asphalt for asphalt mixtures which are suitable for high traffic and hot climate.
