Abstract
Garbage is one of the environmental problems that has not been handled properly, especially in big cities. The ability of the waste manager to handle waste is not in balance with its production, so garbage piles up everywhere. Waste that is not properly managed will cause a decrease in health and environmental aesthetic value due to water, air pollution and the development of pests, so that the settlements around the garbage pile are no longer suitable for residents. The waste problem that arises in Duri City is due to the difficulty of collecting, transporting, disposing, utilizing and destroying waste, whether it comes from household, market, industrial or office waste. The difficulty of handling waste is closely related to the poor condition of human settlements, because the growth of irregular settlements will complicate the process of collecting and transporting waste so that it eventually piles up. The main objective of this research is to know and analyze the waste management in the Waste Management Technical Implementation Unit in Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency based on indicators of collection, transportation and final disposal. The type of research used in this research is qualitative using descriptive surveys and triangulation techniques. The number of informants in this study were 17 people with the Head of the Waste Management Unit of Mandau District as the key informant. Data collection techniques by interview and descriptive data analysis through a qualitative approach.
