Abstract

Application of Cooperative Learning Type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) to Improve Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Grade VIII3 Students of SMP N 6 Siak Hulu Eka Nova Kartika NPM.136411488 Final project Mathematics Education Faculty of Teaching and Learning Islamic University of Riau Advisor : Dr. Hj. Sri Rezeki, S.Pd, M.Si Co Advisor : Endang istikomah, S.Pd, M.Ed ABSTRACT This study aims to improve the learning process and improve students mathematics learning outcomeson the material bangun ruang in class VIII3 SMP N 6 Siak Hulu through the application of the cooperatif learning type Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The reseach subject were student of class VIII3 of SMP N 6 Siak Hulu, totaly 30 students, which consisted of 17 male students and 13 female students. The form of reseach is classroom action reseach (CAR) with consits of two cycle, with each cycle consistory of three face-to-face meetings giving teaching material then followed by daily test for the end of cycle. Data collection instruments used were teacher and student activity observation sheets and student mathematics learning achievement tests. Data collection techniques in this study used qualitative data analysis in the form of student mathematics learning outcomes. The results showed that there was an improvement in the learning process and also an increase in mathematics learning outcome for student of class VIII3 on SMP N 6 Siak Hulu. This can be seen from the basic score, daily test 1 and daily test 2. In the basic score the number of students who reached the standart score totaled 11 students (36.67%) with an average of 63.73, on daily test 1 the number of students who reached standart score totaled 18 students (60%) with an average of 67.43, on daily test 2 students who reached standart score totaled 19 students (63.33%) with an average of 71.8. so it can be concluded that the application cooperative learning type TGT can improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes of student class VIII3 SMP N 6 Siak Hulu in the even sesster of the 2018/2019 school year.
