Abstract

Promotion Strategy In Increasing Tourist Visit In Kampar Regency Oleh: Eddres Yandrika 133410588 ABSTRACT Kampar Regency has diverse tourism potentials ranging from ecological, natural, cultural and historical tourism. However, the potential for tourism objects in Kampar Regency has not been maximally exposed so that the impact on increasing local revenue (PAD) from the tourism sector has not been significant. This study aims to 1). Identifying the form of tourism promotion carried out by the Kampar Regency Tourism Office 2). Knowing the impact of promotions that have been carried out on increasing tourist visits 3). Formulating appropriate promotional strategies to increase tourist visits in Kampar Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method. Data collection was carried out by direct observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, agency surveys and literature review. The qualitative descriptive analysis technique is used to identify the form of tourism promotion carried out by the Kampar Regency Tourism Office and to find out the impact of promotions that have been made on increasing tourist visits as well as the SWOT analysis method to formulate appropriate promotional strategies to increase tourist visits in Kampar Regency. The results of this study indicate 1). Promotions carried out by the Kampar Regency Tourism Office are participating in festival activities, exhibitions, placing advertisements in various media and holding tourism events 2). The impact of promotion carried out by the Kampar Regency tourism office is able to have a significant impact on increasing tourist visits 3). The right strategy to increase the number of visits is the creation of work units and cooperation in promoting tourism objects in Kampar Regency, building accommodation in innovative leading tourist objects, community-based tourism management and local culture and increasing human resources (HR).
