Abstract

Tenayan Raya district has the largest number of industries from other districts in Pekanbaru City, totaling 866 industries. The industrial sector is one sector that has the potential to contribute a large income to the city of Pekanbaru, there is a Tenayan industrial area development plan in RTRW draft for Pekanbaru City, therefore it is necessary to study the prospectivity level of development industrial area. The purpose of this study was to identify leading sectors in the District of Tenayan Raya, identify potentials and problems related to the industrial sector in District of Tenayan Raya, and identify the level of prospectiveness of the development of industrial area in the District of Tenayan Raya. This study uses LQ (Location Quotient) analysis, Shift and Share Analysis to identify leading sector, SWOT Analysis (SAP & ETOP) to identify potential and problems related to the industrial sector, and descriptive analysis of prospectivy levels. The results of the study using LQ analysis obtained a score of 1, which means the industry sector is a potential base sector to be developed in the future. Then with the Shift and Share analysis it was found that the industrial sector is in the leading quadrant position. With the SWOT analysis (SAP & ETOP), it is found that the development of industrial area in Tenayan Raya District has Prospectivity to be developed in the future.
