Abstract
Bahasa inggris carried out with the aim to find out the role of the teacher in addressing the learning difficulties of students in XI IPS at SMA Negeri 3 Mandau Bengkalis Regency. The research was conducted in July-August 2019. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPS in SMA Negeri 3 Mandau, Bengkalis Regency, totaling 135 students. The tool used in this study is questionnaire by referring to indicators of the teacher's role in overcoming student learning difficulties that are indicators of finding out the problem and its causes, conducting tests, conducting meetings with parents, providing effective learning, giving advice on possible ways to overcome them. The scale of the teacher's role in overcoming student learning difficulties that have been calculated using the help of the SPSS program version 22.0 for window, obtained the reliability calculation of all instruments using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient formula of 0.905. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that from the 5 indicators, first find out the problem and its causes, second carry out the test, third conduct a meeting with parents, fourth provide effective learning, and fifth provide suggestions on possible ways to overcome them. The teacher's role indicator in overcoming students 'learning difficulties whose scores are low is to carry out the test by 63.8%, while the teacher's role indicator in overcoming students' learning difficulties with the highest score is to give suggestions about possible ways to overcome them by 68.1%.
