Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop test instruments that refer to higher order thinking skills (HOTS) by understanding the basic accounting equations and business firm business transactions, (2) determining the quality of developing test instruments that HOTS categorizes on basic competencies in order to understand understanding the equations basic accounting and business transactions of class XI Accounting 2 SMKN 6 Pekanbaru. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) that uses the Suryabrata model, namely: (1) development of test specifications, (2) writing questions, (3) reviewing questions, (4) assembling questions, (5) testing tests, (6) item analysis, (7) item selection and assembly, (8) test printing. This research was conducted in June-August 2019. Data were collected from the results of a trial of 32 students and analyzed using Anates analysis. The results showed that the test instrument developed was the result of the Suryabrata model with eight steps. For the validation of the test the questions were conducted by linguists, material experts and evaluation experts. Acquisition of test instrument scores given by students of class XI Ak 2 with an average of 80.18 which indicates that the resulting questions are classified as good. test instrument for a teacher in learning.
