Abstract

Marriage for the customary law community is aimed at maintaining and continuing the good descendants according to fatherly line or motherly line or fatherly line, for the happiness of the family's family or relatives, butnot a few of these goals are stopped due to the interruption of a marriage caused by several factors and lead to legal consequences of the termination of the marriage. The main problems in this study are: What are the causes of the occurrence of broken marriages in the Domo tribal community in Kenegerian Rumbio, Kampar Regency? What are the legal consequences of broken marriages in the Domo tribal community in Kenegerian Rumbio, Kampar Regency? The research method used in this research is observational research by survey, namely research conducted at the research location using a data collection tool. This research is descriptive, that is giving a clear and detailed description of the main problem being studied. The cause of the breakup of marriage in thecustomary community of the domo tribe in the Kenegerian Rumbio Kampar Regency is caused by two factors, namely death and divorce. Where divorce is generally caused by someone's unpreparedness with his marriage, in the sense that economics is not sufficient for domestic life, so it often causes strife which leads to divorce. The breakup of this marriage will cause legal consequences in the domo tribal customary law community in Kenegerian Rumbio, Kampar Regency due to the legal consequences of the positionof the husband or wife, the child, and the assets. The legal consequences caused by a death and divorce seen from the kinship system of the rumbio customary law community are matrilineal, according to the custom of the matrilineal kinship.
