Abstract

Application of Problem Based Learning Model for Class X Social Sciences Students of SMA PGRI PEKANBARU. Essay. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau Islamic University. 2019. One indication of improving the quality of human resources in the field of education is students who have good High Level Thinking Skills (HOTS). Mastery of HOTS can improve students' thinking skills in understanding the concepts of economics. This study aims to improve students' higher-order thinking skills on problems in economics. The focus of this study describes how the thinking process requires students based on HOTS indicators. This research is a classroom action research using tests as a method of collecting data. The results obtained indicate that in student assessment questions reached 75.2%, a total of 5 students had HOTS which were categorized very well and 13 students had good HOTS ,. The results of the study showed students had good aspects of HOTS mastery.
