Abstract

Based on preliminary studies conducted at YLPI Pekanbaru High School (Class X Study Year 2018/2019) it was found that student motivation is still low. From 54 students there are 34 students who tend to be lazy to use various learning resources or media provided by the teacher. Students only passively listen and work if the teacher asks for it, there is no initiative from the child to use other books related to learning other than textbooks, not looking for assignments from several books, articles or from the internet students only rely on one book only. This study was to determine the effect of the u se of learning media variations on student motivation in economic subjects at YLPI Pekanbaru High School (Class X Year 2018/2019 Study). The method used by the writer is causal associative method. The population referred to in this study is Class X High S chool YLPI Pekanbaru students totaling 54 students. The sampling technique used in this study was a saturated sample in which the entire population was sampled as many as 54 students. Based on data analysis regarding the influence of the use of learning media variations on student motivation in economic subjects at YLPI Pekanbaru High School (Class X Year 2018/2019) processed through respondents' answers from the questionnaire, the following conclusions can be drawn: There is an influence on the use of vari ations in learning media on student motivation in economic subjects at YLPI Pekanbaru High School (Class X Study Year 2018/2019) has a significant positive correlation. The contribution level of variation in the use of learning media to student motivation is 52.4%, while the rest is determined by other variables not examined in this study.
