Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy and peers on student learning independence in accounting subjects in class XI SMK PGRI Pekanbaru. Self-efficacy is the result of the knowledge process of experience in the form of beliefs about the extent to which a person is confident in his own abilities, in carrying out a task given by the teacher, and can take his own actions in achieving the desired results. Peers are children or adolescents with the same level of age or maturity. Independence Learning is defined as learning activities that take place more driven by their own will, their own choices, and accompanied by a sense of responsibility from the learner's self. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were 82th grade students of SMK PGRI Pekanbaru, totaling 82 students. The tool used in this study is questionnaire by referring to aspects of self-efficacy, peers and learning independence. The self-efficacy scale, peers and learning independence that have been calculated using SPSS program version 22.0 for window, obtained the reliability calculation of all instruments using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient formula of 0.967 Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there was no significant effect between the self-efficacy variables on the students' self-study variables in the accounting class XI AK in the PGRI Vocational School Pekanbaru and there was only one variable that had a significant effect between the X and Y variables, namely the peer variable towards learning independence
