Abstract

This class action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Integrated Science students of class VIII1 of SMPN 20 Pekanbaru by using clipping media as an alternative teaching material. The subjects of this study were the VIII1 grade students of SMPN 20 Pekanbaru in the Academic Year 2017/2018. This research was conducted in January to February 2018 with 42 students. The parameters measured are student learning outcomes in the form of absorption and student learning completeness, which consists of individual and classical completeness. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the absorption of PPK value of students before PTK is 63.45, in the first cycle increased to 76.61, and increased again in the second cycle to 83.93, as well as the classical completeness of students PPK values before PTK was 30,95%, in the first cycle increased to 42.86%, and increased again in the second cycle to 92.86%. The increase also occurred in the absorption of students' KI score before PTK was 64.45, increased in the first cycle to 80.90, and increased again in the second cycle to 87.67, as well as on the completeness of the student's KI cashical completeness before PTK was 21, 43%, increased in cycle I to 78.57% and increased again in cycle II to 100%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that an increase in student learning outcomes in class VIII1 of SMP 20 Pekanbaru using clipping media as an alternative teaching material.
