Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle strength to the long serve ability of badminton at Club PB Bank Riau Kepri Pekanbaru. Furthermore, this type of research is a correlation study with the entire population of Club PB Bank Riau Kepri Pekanbaru athletes, which with a total population of 15 people. The sample in this study is the entire population into a sample of 15 people, if the total population is less than 100 people then all populations are sampled or by using total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a test of arm muscle strength using push ups and a badminton long service test. Then the data is processed statistically, with the product moment correlation formula and using the t distribution formula to determine whether there is a significant or no relationship at a significant level of 0.05α. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a contribution of arm muscle strength to the ability to serve long badminton at Club PB Bank Riau Kepri Pekanbaru. Based on the results of research that has been carried out by researchers at PB Bank Riau Kepri Pekanbaru, namely the arm muscle strength test and the badminton long serve test, it can be concluded that there is a contribution of arm muscle strength to the ability to serve long badminton at Club PB Bank Riau Kepri Pekanbaru, where there is a contribution of 39, 6%.
